The Woodberry Forest Conservation Project

Update and Volunteer information page

Thanks to everyone who devoted their time and energy on April 6th to help clear the way for our new hike/bike trail along Cold Spring lane! The City donated a bulldozer to clear away invasive vines, and Struever Bros, Eccles and Rouse generously donated their time, talent, and a bobcat to remove tires and trash.

Volunteer day June 15th, (we are waiting for our delivery of new trees) when we should be planting many big native trees along the trail to replace the invasive vines and trash. We need YOU! Please e-mail us to get more information, or call Jan Danforth at 410-516-8853 for more information. We will be working at the trailhead on the corner of Greenspring Ave and Cold Spring lane.

We will be posting many more volunteer days in the future. To get updates on volunteer days automatically, click here to receive them via e-mail

Meet our great volunteers!
EEEK! Bulldozers?!

Actually, the bulldozers are doing their part to restore this forest by preparing an isolated area of the forest that was hopelessly damaged by invasive vines for replanting with healthy trees (left) and helping grade the new hike / bike trail (right)
